The Englewood area has a fantastic choice of restaurants that can cater for any taste or occasion. Below we have listed a few of our favourites that we have personally enjoyed, but a full list of all the restaurants in area code 941 can be found here.
Farlows (www.farlowsonthewater.com). Our favourite restaurant in the area. Wonderful al fresco dining, plentiful selection of fish, live music at weekends.
The Lock and Key (www.lockandkeyrestaurant.com). If there are only two of you choose to eat at the bar. Lovely large prawns and the lollipop pork chops (medium) are to die for.
Outback Steakhouse (www.outback.com). The most tender steaks but for starters try the seared tuna – even more tender than the steaks.
Sharkeys at Venice Beach (www.sharkysonthepier.com). Particularly good at the weekend afternoons and early evening, live music and fabulous views across the gulf and a great place to watch the sunset.
Jonny Leverocks (www.leverockscapehaze.com). Overlooking Lemon Bay and great for fish and steaks.
Gulf View Grill (www.thegulfviewgrill.com). Enjoy the sunsets overlooking Englewood Beach at Manasota Key.
The Fisheries (www.sunstate.com/fishery). As the name suggest a huge selection of fish dishes and also sales of wet fish during the day.
